When I started down this road of being an entrepreneur, I didn’t realize that it was like being a hidden gem. Everything that I’ve learned growing up and everything that I’m currently learning is making me the business woman that I am today. However, this doesn’t come easily, and there were many times where I had to ask myself some hard questions. One of the toughest questions I’ve had to ask myself in general is as follows:
Be an entrepreneur you’re dreaming of?
It’s an important question to ask, and it will really put lots of things into perspective. You can have everything that’s necessary for you to live a good life, but everyone’s definition of good is different. You may be further along than someone else in entrepreneurship, but you can still be spinning your wheels trying to figure out what to do next, or what you’ll need next. Aside from religion, entrepreneurship is one of the most spiritual journeys you’ll ever take, because you’ll discover who you really are, what’s important, and what’s lacking, and you’ll also see that you’re in full control of your life.
You control your growth, your revenue, and if you want things to happen intentionally, you have to move intentionally. We are all blessed with gifts and talents, but it takes more than talent to make something in particular your profession. All over the place, there are thousands of people that want to excel in some particular area because they are talented. However, are you willing to put in the work? Are you willing to make the sacrifices? Are you willing to put in the time to be the best in your area?
Want to be like a gem?
Entrepreneurship is equal to being a gem. There will be heat, and pressure, but it’s a part of the refinement to become something that shines, something worthy of being called a precious stone. It requires going to the drawing board, numerous times, putting things together that work, and removing what doesn’t work. The life of an entrepreneur is something that many people dream of, and they have unrealistic expectations about it. When it doesn’t work in their favor, they hang it up, and move on. You have to realize that this is a PROCESS. Processes take time, and processes may not always work the first time, the second, third, or fourth time. Just know that if you stay on the path of refinement, and are committed to doing what’s necessary to bring about the changes, you WILL live that life that you truly dream of as an entrepreneur.
